Swini Khare is thankful for ZND

She says, “My dancing has improved because of the show and it has made me more confident. The memories that I have of the show will always be with me in my heart. ZND has been a joyride for me. I have enjoyed each and every moment of the experience.” Swini is all praise for the show and the channel, saying, “I hope Star One comes up more exciting projects such as ZND. I think that Star has some of the best channels and series on television today. Their immense experience with making shows and their mind-blowing concepts keep them ahead of the pack. I am proud to have worked with them and I will definitely jump at a chance to do more work with them in the future.”Apart from showing off her dancing skills in ZND, Swini has her plate full with several movies up for release. Swini says, “My next film, Hari Puttar, will release this Friday. In the movie, I play the role of an impish girl named Took Took, who helps throw out a thief from her house with her friend Zain Khan. It’s a complete laugh riot and I hope people enjoy watching it. I’m also doing a film called Pathsala with Shahid Kapoor where I am playing a student. Other than that there is Kallo, which is a ghost story full of thrills and shocking scenes.

Narayani Shashtri’s shadow magic on ZND

Practicing for the duet was not an easy task. She says, “It was very complicated. When our choreographers were clueless of how to continue the steps, Mouni and I took charge and we tried our hand at it for a couple of hours before getting it right.”Was she nervous because of the sketchy rehearsals? “Optimistic is the word! I am a hardcore believer that anything can be done and I knew I would deliver on ZND. My performances speak for themselves. And my shadow dancing performance certainly did so as well,” she says. And she did deliver. Narayani is please because the judges were ecstatic with the performance. “They said it was stunningly. We got a standing ovation and it made our day. Mouni and I were bombarded with applause and screaming from the audiences who wanted an encore. Malaika Arora and Chunky Pandey gave us the best feedback.”She adds. “While everyone around us was cheering, we were just fixed on the stage like statues. We felt like goddesses and were thoroughly enjoying the attention. I can’t wait for the show to air on Sunday and see what the public thinks of it. Be sure to keep watching ZND for some more fiery performances.”

Performing in front of the stars

"I never get nervous while performing in front of anyone. There is nothing to be scared of. You are a contestant and you have to keep performing better. That's how it works for me."

Chaitanya said "It was better performing in front of them. I was confident enough and feared nothing. I think it was excellent and satisfactory because they gave us very authentic comments on our performance. And seemed it was not us who were stressed, but Tushar and Raima were looking a bit frazzled."

Gaurav chopra said "Performing in front of them was fun. I was pretty much sure and confident and there was no sign of nervousness. According to everyone this was my best performance till date. All my judges and Tushar and Raima were also happy and gave me good remarks on my performance. This has only boosted my morale. I am really charged up now. I never felt stressed because I have performed in front of Amitabh Bachchan, Karan Johar and a lot others.

About ZND, she says, “Let me put it this way, ZND has inimitable and very fundamental concept and on top of that, there is no fear of being abolished from the show. And that’s splendid you know! And the recognition and gratitude, we get from each other has also got to go with the ZND, where every one is so gung ho as well supportive”.

Any of your preferred recitation, she utters, “Well, there was this boy act done by me, which was very challenging, but I fell it from my heart that, Poora Nachke Dikha on Zara Nachke Dikha. And that actually goes glowing with me, every on harmonized for the performance. At last I would add to that every performance of mine comes to the perfection, and that’s because I always give my top shot in what so ever”.

Any words for your squad, “Yes, come on ladies, we have to pull the victory our side. We have to surmount the battle of sexes. Watch out for fireworks guys!!!”

Dancing Queen blanked out

She says, "My toes were uprooted before the performance. However, then I took pain killers so it did feel better for a moment. So I went ahead with the performance but in midst again I could not budge. I was not blanked out because I forgot the steps or something like that."

Asked about injury, she reveals, "I am getting better however for at least a week I have to sit out of the show. I can't perform because of the damage. Nevertheless, I will make my comeback next time so watch out for that."

What is your take on the bikini act by boys? "I don't think there was anything extraordinary. I feel it wasn't tastefully done. And frankly speaking, personally too I didn't like the act. There was a lot of co-ordination lacking between guys in the act."

Dance floor ka 'sehansaah' turns bikini boy

He says, "I agree, it was my initiative to perform in a bikini in the mausam mastana track where all guys wear bikini. We discussed it among boys and Bakhtiyar backed me. That's how it came about.

"But subsequently my contemplation was to execute in faction. Somehow we landed doing it in a group of three. My intention backing it was to look cute something different and make it funny, so it happened. It turned out to be an ultra smack".

When asked about getting mortified on the show, he declares, "I never meant to do all this cheeky proceeds as it does not go glow with my personality. However at times it's excellent to be a shocker, than just being customary.

"Even though I was so embarrassed on the show I got astounding comments from both the judges as well audiences. Every one enjoyed the act thoroughly, left me felling uncomfortable," he laughs.

Jennifer Winget: Straight from the heart

She says, "ZND's format is damn refreshing and a platform for me to discover my dancing skills. It is my first dance realty show so I am having a gala time on the show".

When asked about why ZND is so special, she innocently says, "Because I am doing it. Everything I do is special for me and I put my heart and soul into it. That's why. It has a great production team and people are so nice to mingle with. The contestants of ZND are the best I have come across so far."

Any message for both the teams? "Ladies you all are so talented. Just have to kill the mocking birds around. And take the finale home. Let's do it. For boys, toil harder lads", she laughs.

Ashita Dhawan: Too hot to handle

She says, "I have really been lucky throughout the show, always getting implausible remarks from both the judges on my performance. And that has strengthened to keep my rhythm moving."

She continues saying, "I am the favourite participant of Chunky sir and whatever I perform he praises me saying - Ashita you were absolutely awe-inspiring and dazzling keep it up girl."

When asked about her co-stars and practice, she comments, "Once the practice session simply took me on a trip. After practice I went back home at midnight and I was just lying on bed thinking about the steps. I was so stressed that I started rehearsing.

The participants are great. We have fun together on the sets. No cold war or fight happens but the only big fight happens on show - that's war of sexes."

How is the ZND experience?

I'm loving the idea of boys vs girls and it's great to do anchoring as here there won't be any tension for me but at the same time I'm missing the dance floor. I go crazy when it comes for dancing and I'm missing Shraddha. I'm thankful that she is not in the team of mithi churi ladkiyaan. Even she loves this concept of dance where there is no elimination.

According to you who are strongest and funniest contestants from both the sides?

Among the Tez Talwar Ladke it's Bhaktiyar, Ali Asgar, Chaitanya Choudhary while among Mithi Churiyaan it's Mouni Roy, Karishma Tanna and sometimes Delnaaz Paul also.

So are you enjoying your new act of anchoring?

Oh yes it's wonderful and as an actor I got to know how to anchor. There is less hard work but at the same time you have to concentrate more on the anchor script. I knew before doing Dil Mil Gaye that I will be anchoring for Star. I'm happy with anchoring and again Zara Nach Ke Dikha has everything emotion, romance and masti.

What's happening in Dil Mil Gaye?

Lots happening in the life of Dr.Aarmaan and his love. Our love track has started so lots of masti and love is happening.

Is ZND more important for you than DMG, because it has originally made you one of the most wanted television stars?

“Both are important as in DMG and now Zara Nach Ke Dikha as because of my role as Dr.Armaan gave me the statues of Mr. Super Cool.”

Who is a better actor in Riddhima's role - Shilpa or Sukirti?

Sukriti needs time to get in to the role Riddhima.

You have a brother and he is a singer. Is it true?

Yes. He is singer ... during his early days he used to have a small band and I was also a part of that band though now he is working in a bank.

How is your experience with Shweta in ZND? If you are given a chance to replace Shweta then with whom would you like to replace Shweta with?

She is fantastic and so with ZND one more friend is added in my friends list. She is an awesome co-host and an awesome friend. She is a lot of fun. She is always supportive and helpful. We get along really well. I feel like I am paired up with a friend. It is really nice. I think no one can replace Shweta.

When will you marry Riddhima in Dil Mil Gaye?

I have no clue! First I want to impress Dr.Shashank then only I will get married to his daughter.

How close to you find yourself to Dr. Armaan?

Hmm quite interesting as Dr.Armaan is lovable and caring so am I with Shraddha. He also loves his profession so there are lots of similarity between Karan and Dr.Armaan.

Many contestants from the boys' team in Zara… have repeatedly felt that the judges Malaika and Chunky give wrong judgments?

I don't think the judges are biased but the judge's job is a bit difficult. Whatever they feel, they mark accordingly. We have to stay calm, value and honour the judge’s decision. So I would say that the boys reacted like any other contestant would but overall its game.

What are your hobbies?

Watching movies sometimes if its A good movie then I go with Shraddha and if not then watching films on my DVD player.

Who is funnier? Ali Asgar or Chaitanya Choudhary?

Ali Asgar, he is fantastic and Chaitanya is not at all funny but he is a good performer and dancer too.

Now, the competition has come into its final stage... what’s your take on it?

Very tough, lets see who will be winning as Meethi Churi Ladkiyaan will work hard to defeat my Tez Talwar Ladke.

Having a degree in catering, so do you cook for Shraddha?

No, that is one of her biggest complaints! I don't get time to cook but I have promised her that I will soon cook for her. On the contrary, she has cooked for me a couple of times.

Is Shilpa, old Riddhima coming back in DMG?

No she is not coming back.

Who do you think is the strong contender in Zara Nach Ke Dikha?

I think its the girls because they are just superb in their dancing attitude and ex-pressions but I feel may the best team win.

From Meethi Choori Ladkiyaan who is a fantastic dancer?

“ think Mouni and Karishma are very good... even judges liked their performances so I just want to tell all the tez Talwar ladke to be cautious from these meethi Choori Ladkiyaan.

Would you ever participate in a reality show?

I am open to whatever comes along and when I feel like taking up something from the core of my heart, I take it up. I love dancing though. I am bad at following dancing instructions but when the dance is left on me entirely, I can dance really well.”

Do you take advice from girlfriend Shradha Nigam who has been around in the industry for a longer time?

I do not take any decision before consulting Shradha and it is the same with her. After returning from every meeting, I have a chat with her. Whether it is a professional or a personal decision, we always consult each other. “

What are the qualities that your ideal wife should have?

She should be supportive and understanding. I’m such a person who needs constant support. She should also be a happy, easy going person and frankly speaking Shraddha is having all those qualities that I am looking for in my ideal wife

Do you guys talk marriage?

Yes, we do but we don't have any such plans as of now. When we do, you will come to know. Even my parents are not in hurry.

Do you miss your family?

Currently, my parents are living in Delhi. I speak to them on and off but I don't get to meet them very often. I just meet them once in a couple of months but now they will come for the grand finale episode as they are the regular watchers of this show.

Where do you want to head from here?

Definitely into films now as I’m in talks with some of the production houses but I won’t be able to talk about it much yet... when the time is right I will make an announcement.

Amit ka dum on ZND

"It was quite a tough call performing in front of flanking mirrors on the juncture. Other than a little practice on the set we didn't have much background on performing on that floor. gaurav and I did what ever lilttle preparation we could from our end. We were a bit worried but it all worked out in the end," says Amit.

Judge Malaika too loved their act. "I adore you guys never giving up spirit on experimentation each time you come up on stage to perform," she praised them.

Amit who has not been performing for a while says he was glad to get a chance this week and come out on top.

"So it was my first performance after two weeks and it came out good. I am content that I made a killer move with another killer from the guy's team Gaurav," says Amit.

But it's not all about his dance. Amit says he wuite likes Karishmas acts too. "I think Karishma Tanna is the best dancer on ZND. She certainly she stands out from in the crowd. Each performance of hers on the show is a pleasure to watch," he says.

Amit is now getting ready for the finale. He says, "We will try and give our best on that particular day and pull the winning moment our side but let's see...Chain Khuli Ki Main Khuli Ki Chain... kill it Guys!!! and for the girls I hope they lose!"

Chaitanya pokes fun at Karishma

I agree I did do that... But it was not my concept. The production people came up with the idea. I just went to the front and performed it... I was egged on by Bakhtiyar. It was a complete fun fiesta for all of us on the show," says Chaitanya.

However, only last week Karishma and Chaitanya had teamed up and performed together in the Hum Tum round. So why mock your partner and friend?

"Its almost become like a habit for me to mimic her when I get on that stage. She is a great dancer and on top of that my sweetest friend around. I tell you she is a sweetheart. And a great performer, when it comes to dancing or acting. Its all just in fun," he says.

Recently Chaitanya was quite embarassed himself. His childhood photos were shown on the show too. "I was quite shocked when I saw it. I was left wondering how they got them. I guess my parents must have given to them. But it was my cousin sister who provided the photos to them. However, it was fun rememebering my childhood..." laughs the actor.

Ashita Dhawan impresses one and all..........

Ashita Dhawan of Bidaai fame who recently replaced Maaninee De in Star One’s Zara Nachke Dikha impressed one and all with her very first performance. “I did a peppy Punjabi act on the number Say Na from Bluff master. The theme was Bhangra and I loved doing it”, says Ashita.

A very keen and quick learner, Ashita wants to explore all forms of dance in this opportunity that she has got. Speaking about her other performances of the week the actress quips, “We are working hard on hard-core western dance too where we will perform on ‘Paisa Paisa’ from the movie Apna Sapna Money Money.

Also, according to our source, the girls won this week by a good margin, before which the boys had managed to out beat the girls last week!! So with this, it is all even again in the big clash between the boys and girls…

Mouni Roy : Zara Nachke Dikha Contestant

Mouni Roy is an Indian Television actress. She is originally from West Bengal.

Mouni graduated from Miranda House in Delhi. She also attended the Jamia
Milia Islamia University, also in Delhi. She left her studies and moved to
Mumbai after she was selected by Ekta Kapoor. She made her acting debut with
the popular serial Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi on Star Plus. She is
well-known for the role of Krishna Tulsi in the serial.

Mouni was one of the one of the contestants of
Say Shaava Shaava, a singing competition on
NDTV Imagine channel. She was eliminated on January 28, 2008.

About Zara Nach ke Dikha and Contestants

Last year Star One's hit dance show- Nach Baliye shifted to Star Plus so the channel has launched a brand new show- Zara Nach Ke Dikha by the same makers. Like Nach Baliye, Zara Nach Ke Dikha is also a dance reality show in which various TV personalities will participate though its concept is slightly different from Nach Baliye. In Nach Baliye there were different pairs who had to compete with each other in dance where as in Zara Nach Ke Dikha the competetion is between boys and girls.

In Zara Nach Ke Dikha there are 16 celebrities- 8 boys and 8 girls who will show their dancing skills. The participants are well known faces of TV industry. It will be a bi weekly show that will replace Choona Hai Aasman . This show is pulled back by the channel due to the decreased TRP.
One important point about this show is that there will be no public voting. The decision will be completely made by the judges. This is exactly opposite to Channel 9x's show Yeh Hai Jalwa where the decision was totally dependent on the viewers. The show will start from 14th July at Monday and Tuesday at 9-30 pm.

Ashita replaces Manini in 'Zara Nachke Dikha'

Even before the dance based reality show ‘Zara Nachke Dikha’ takes off the show will have its first replacement. Ashita Dhawan, of ‘Bidaai’fame, will replace Manini De, who opted out due to a bad back.

When contacted Ashita confirms the news and says, “Yes, I am replacing Manini who is a good friend of mine, in ‘Zara Nachke Dikha’. In fact, I had first asked her if she is fine with me replacing her and she was more than happy. I feel that I share karmic connections with Manini. She has been my lucky mascot in some way or the other. In fact, the very popular character of Malti fell in my lap because of her.”

“When I was offered to play Malti, I was already doing’ Zaara’ and the dates clashed. I remember chatting with Manini and I told her that I have been offered the role of Malti but things don’t seem to be working out. She then turned out to be my savior and called up Vivek, supervising producer of ‘Bidaai’, and told him about me,” she avers.

So what about ‘Saas vs Bahu’, the dance-based reality show that she was to do on Sahara One? “The contract was not ready and the production house is also postponing the launch of the show so I decided to take up ‘Zara Nachke Dikha’, explains Ashita.

Bappi Lahiri the undisputed “Disco King” of the

of his talented son Bappa Lahiri to walk in his dad’s footsteps &
take the legacy ahead! After composing music for films, he has now made his
television debut as a composer and singer by composing & lending his voice

The title track of the ‘battle of the sexes’ is a

All the 'Dill Mill Gayee' fans get ready to see the handsome hunk Karan Grover AKA Dr. Armaan in a new avtaar of a host for a new dance show on Star TV 'Zara Nachke Dikha'. Karan Grover will be joined by the very sweet Shweta Gulati of the ‘Remix’ fame.

Karan and Shweta would be seen teasing each other on the show as ‘Battle of the Sexes’ is the theme for ‘Zara Nachke Dikha’. The choice of judges is also interesting there is the sexy Malaika who had earlier judged ‘Nach Baliye’ she would be co-judging the show along with Chunky Pandey.

Zara Nach ke Dikha - The Beginning

After the success of Nach Baliye, Star One is ready with another celebrity dance show Zara Nach Ke Dikha. Only here, the teams will be divided into boys versus girls!

Competing for the title are Delnaz Paul, Karishma Tanna, Maninee De, Narayani Shastri, Mouni Roy, Rupali Ganguli, Jennifer Winget, Ali Asgar, Bhaktyaar Irani, Gaurav Chopra, Manish Goel, Chaitanya Chowdhury, Amit Tandon and Vikas Sethi, along with child artists Swini Khare and Amey Pandya.

There will be no eliminations or public voting here. The show will be based on the verdict of the jury, which comprises of Malaika Arora Khan and Chunkey Pandey.

Karan Singh Grover of Dill Mil Gayye and Sweta Gulati of Remix fame will host the show.

Star One will launch Zara Nachke Dikha, a battle of the sexes on the dance floor. The show, spread over 22 episodes, will start in the second week of July. The show has been produced by production house SOL, which has earlier produced shows like Koffee with Karan and Nach Baliye.

The show will feature twice a week with the best of celebrities from the television industry who will be pitted against each other to prove their superiority. The first day will be the Performance Episode for one and half hours while the second day will be the Challenge Episode for one hour. Each Performance Episode will have seven different performances involving both teams, and the jury will decide one winner. For the weaker team, the Challenge Episode will give an opportunity to bounce back. It comprises eight girls against eight boys.

The contestants are Delnaaz Paul, Karishma Tanna, Maninee De, Narayani Shastri, Mouni Roy, Rupali Ganguli, Jennifer Winget, Ali Asgar, Bhaktyaar Irani, Gaurav Chopra, Manish Goel, Chaitanya Choudhary, Amit Tandon, Vikas Sethi, and Child Artist Swini Khare and Amey Pandya will also take part in this upcoming show.

There will be no eliminations and no public voting, the show will be based on the jury’s final verdict. It will not only present viewers with some stimulating dance moves but also showcase the best of strategies in order to score over the opposite team. From understanding the next move to playing mind games to being extremely manipulative, the show will have the ‘mundas’ scheme against the ‘kudis’ and vice-versa in the strategy room.

Meanwhile, Pari Hoon Main, the daily soap on Star One, is on its way out. The show about mistaken identities is going off air to make way for Zara Nachke Dikha.

Producer Ravi Chopra admits that the story of Pari.. has stagnated but says, “We are in talks with the channel to turn things around.” If not yanked off, Pari Hoon Main’s time-slot may change.
